TEXAS POLICE ATHLETIC FEDERATION

BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STAFF

The 2018 Texas Police Games were held in Ft. Worth, Texas from June 9th – June 16th, 2018.

The events despite some minor problems were all very successful and I believe all the competitors had a great time, with some challenging competition.

Registration check-in at the Fort Worth Police Academy, 505 West Felix, 76115, was also a challenge, especially for the ones of us that were working there. Sorry about the inconvenience and delays in registration check-in but we had an extremely large number of competitors that failed to register on-line. We had several tell us that they did not know when the on-line registration closed, others stated they thought the coach registered them, and still others stated they tried to register but it wouldn’t let them. There were also some other excuses but I can’t put them in print.

Always remember On-Line REGISTRATION opens the first Monday after the SUPER BOWL and closes on MEMORIAL Day.

This year we tried extending regular registration times and doing away with late fees, and that seem to cause even more of a problem. We also tried leaving the “Team Member” registration open until 3 days before the start of the games, that also caused problems.

Next year Early on-line registration will start as usual, (the first Monday after the Super Bowl) and continue until March 10th, Regular on-line registration will start on March 10th and continue until May 5th, Late on-line registration will start on May 5th and continue until on-line registration closes on May 27th, 2019 (Memorial Day). On Site registration will still be allowed but will require everyone, except host city competitors to pay a late fee, this will include a $20.00 fee for each team member that doesn’t register on-line.

The 2019 games will be held in Abilene, Texas, the storybook capital of Texas. Abilene is going all out and promises to be the best games ever. Since our last trip to Abilene in 2004 a lot of changes have been made. For example, they have added a new Bowling Alley and Entertainment Center, New schools and equipment, upgraded the Host hotel and other different entertainment venues for all competitors and their families.

The following forms will be used:

Individual Registration Form (for all individual events, including bowling doubles and team, tennis, racquetball, billiards etc.)

Coach or Managers TEAM REGISTRATION Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball)

Coach or Managers Team Roster Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball)

Team Member Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball)

Be sure and check the Sports Breakdown by days and hours on the Events Page.
