For those that attended the 2019 Abilene Police Games, this was one of the most successful events in the past several years. There were very few complaints about any of the venue locations and all were easy to locate. The Abilene Police Department staff did a fantastic job and with the help of several volunteers made sure that there was plenty of water, Gatorade and other items always available at each event location.
Lt. McGary, his wife Jenna, her mother and father (Kelly and Pattie Archer) all pitched in to help everything run smooth. Kelly provided numerous sports memorabilia items for the silent auction and I was one of the lucky ones that won a couple of items. Other items for the silent auction were furnished by TPAF Board Members and local merchants. The silent auction was a big success also.
I know that everyone that attended the Games enjoyed the hospitality that was shown by the Abilene Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and the Taylor County Constables Office Staffs as well as the citizens of Abilene. For those that did not make the trip you missed out on some great competition and another town where you could go from the Host Hotel to any event in under 15 minutes. The people were all friendly and accommodating.
The added events, Obstacle Course (1 and 2-man events), and Body Building were also a great success with competitors looking forward to adding more participants next year.
The 2020 Texas Police Games will be held in South Padre Island and in Harlingen Texas, starting with registration check-in opening on Saturday June 6th, 2020 from Noon – 4:00 PM at the (Host Hotel). This check-in will primarily be for participants registered for the events starting on Sunday June 7th, Motorcycle Rodeo, Obstacle Course and CrossFit. This will also be the start for weigh-in for Power Lifting and Body Building. Registration check-in will start its normal hours on Sunday June 7that 7:00 am until 4:00 pm thru Friday June 12th, 2020.

Always remember On-Line registration opens the first Monday after the Super Bowl and closes on Memorial Day.
Check the Eligibility list for changes. Certified 9-1-1 dispatchers are now Eligible to compete under the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighter classifications.
Also, First Responders, (EMT’s and Paramedics) can now compete under the new First Responder classification. This will refer to any Federal, State or City Ambulance Service.
A first responder is a person with specialized training who is among the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency, such as an accident, natural disaster, or terrorist attack.
For 2020 Early Registration will start on Monday 02/03/2020 at 6:00am – and closes on 03/08/2020 at 5:45 am. ($40 + $10 for additional events)
Coach or Managers Team Registration and Team Members Registration will also start on Monday 02/03/2020 at 6:00 AM and will close on 05/10/2020 at 5:45 AM
Regular Registration will start on Sunday 03/08/2020 at 6:00 am – and closes on Sunday 05/10/2020 at 5:45 am. ($60+ $10 for additional events)
Late Registration will start on Sunday 05/10/2020 at 6:00 am – and closes on Monday 05/25/2020 at 6:00 pm. ($80+ $20 for additional events)
Coach or Managers Late Team Registration and Team Members Late Registration will also start on Monday 05/10/2020 at 6:00 AM and will close on 05/25/2020 at 6:00 PM .
Late fees for Teams will be $50.00, Late fees for each Team Members will be $20.00
On-Site Registration will be available to those from the Host agency at regular registration fees.

As I promised you, there will be changes coming up for future games, make sure you pay attention to the registration forms (READ IT). We are also open to suggestions for new events, and improvements.
The following forms will be used:
Individual Registration Form (for all individual events, including bowling doubles and team, tennis, racquetball, billiards etc.)
Coach or Managers TEAM REGISTRATION Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball)
Coach or Managers Team Roster Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball)
Team Member Form (for Flag Football, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball) EVERY Team Member including Coach and/or manager must complete the TEAM MEMBER REGISTRATION FORM.
